If the option is active, you'll see a download link and also the file size so far, so you will be able to save the file to your personal computer and view it or process it with some app. Enabling or disabling the logs takes effect right away, so if you don't need one, you'll be able to stop it with simply a click from the exact same section of the CP. You will still be able to access the already created content by clicking on the Download link.
